The 2022 World Cup will be played during the day. Here’s how you can watch the games while you work.

What time are the 2022 World Cup games?

The World Cup uses fixed TV slots.

The first two group games will be played one game at a time at 5am, 8am, 11am, and 2pm (Eastern time). The dates are November 21st through November 28th. The 21st is a Monday and Thanksgiving is Thursday the 24th.

The third group game has all four teams in each group playing at the same time to avoid match fixing. Game times are 10am and 2pm November 29th through December 2nd.

The Round of 16 plays December 3rd (Saturday) through 6th (Tuesday). There are two games per day with one at 10am and one at 2pm.

The Quarter-Finals are on December 9th (Friday) and 10th (Saturday) also at 10am and 2pm.

The Semi-Finals are on December 13th (Tuesday) and December 14th (Wednesday) at 2pm each day.

The Third-Place game is on the 17th (Saturday) and the Final (Sunday) is on the 18th at 10am each day.

What TV channels have the 2022 World Cup games?

FOX has the English rights and NBC has the Spanish rights.

All of the Spanish games will be on Telemundo and Peacock Premium. Telemundo will work if you’re at home in a market where Telemundo is available over the air. If you need to stream from your office or don’t get Telemundo, you can use the Peacock Premium app on the go or on your TV. When two games play at the same time, Universo and Peacock get the 2nd game.

FOX will split their games between the broadcast station and Fox Sports 1. During the group stage, FS1 gets the early 5am and 8am games. On the third group days, each station gets one game. In the knockout stage, FS1 only has the Round of 16 games on December 4th. FOX gets all of the other games.

This schedule makes it really easy to watch the entire World Cup for free over the air. If you don’t get good reception or have to stream at work, Sling TV, FuboTV, Hulu Live, and YouTube TV all carry FOX and FS1. Each platform also offers DVR if you’ll need to wait until after work to watch.

When does the USA play?

The United States plays on Monday, November 21 at 2pm against a TBD European team. Game two is on Black Friday (11/25) versus England at 2pm. Game three is against Iran at 2pm on Tuesday, November 29.

If the United States finishes second, their next game is on Saturday, December 3 at 10am. A potential Quarter Final would be Friday, December 9 at 2pm. The winner of that game advances to the Tuesday, December 13 Semi-Final.

If the United States finishes first, their next game is on Sunday, December 4 at 2pm. A potential Quarter Final would be Saturday, December 10 at 2pm. The winner of that game advances to the Wednesday, December 14 Semi-Final.
